“The Fatherhood of God”
Good fathers have a profound influence on their families, church and communities. Men, as fathers, mirror God the Father. We all start to understand the fatherhood of God by starting with the fathers we see around us, particularly our own fathers. Our first ideas about the character of God will always come from what we see in our own father. This is not because earthly fathers were picked by the writers of scripture as an approximation of God's relationship to us, but rather God created the role of "father" as an image of himself, who is The Father.
